(The Villages, FL) Central Florida Health has partnered with MobileSmith to release two innovative hospital wayfinding apps for The Villages® Regional Hospital and Leesburg Regional Medical Center. The apps were designed to help patients and visitors navigate the hospital campuses using geofencing and beacons. They even feature an easy-to-use physician directory right at your fingertips.
“Hospitals can be intimidating for patients and their families, so we want to do all that we can to make their experience a more pleasant one,” said Don Henderson, president and CEO of Central Florida Health. “While we will always have a friendly face to greet and direct visitors as you enter our hospitals, our new user-friendly apps add an extra layer of comfort and convenience from their smartphone.”
Both The Villages® Regional Hospital app and the Leesburg Regional Medical Center app are packed with helpful features including physician directories which can be filtered by specialty and location, important hospital news, a searchable list of health topics and a detailed list of services offered. The apps also include built-in wayfinding using Bluetooth low energy beacons so that users can receive automatic location-based push messages pointing to maps and images that facilitate outdoor and indoor navigation.
“For today’s patients, mobile wayfinding and easy access to hospital services are tremendously useful and potentially loyalty boosting features,” continued Henderson.
